META-CLAY

Save 'System Shape'

The Meta-Clay->Save 'System Shape' command in the Model module saves a keyframe for the selected meta-clay system. This command saves all the animated fields of all the current meta-clay elements, including the core and density of the influence zone, the superquadric exponents, as well as transformations, and so on.

This command is often used after the Meta-Clay->Pick 'System Shape' command to save one system shape to another for a metamorphosis effect.

Note:

As with other object types, you can also use SaveKey->Object->Transformations for meta-clay systems. However, saving the system shape has the advantage of saving changes in the shape and density of the meta-clay elements, in addition to their transformations.

Procedure

  1. Select a meta-clay system.
  2. Modify a meta-clay system's transformations at each desired keyframe position.
  3. If you wish to modify the meta-clay element's shape and density at a desired keyframe position, choose the Info->Selection command and modify the parameters. For information and procedures, see the Editing a Meta-Element's Shape and Influence Zone section of the Modelling User's Guide.
  4. Choose Meta-Clay->Save 'System Shape' to save the keyframe.
  5. Repeat the process for all keyframes.
